Getting Started

Yes — completely free with no credit card required. There may be optional paid upgrades in the future, but the free tier will always exist.
You can have one free VPS per account. You must delete your current VPS before claiming a new one.
The following operating systems are available at provisioning time:
  • Ubuntu 22.04 (recommended)
  • Ubuntu 20.04
  • Debian 12
  • Debian 11
  • CentOS 7
Ubuntu 22.04 is the recommended choice for most use cases.
Your VPS is usually ready within 30–60 seconds after you request it.

Account & Renewal

Renewals happen on a monthly cycle. You’ll receive an email reminder before your renewal date — simply click Renew in your dashboard to keep your VPS active. For full details, see the Renewal page.
If you miss your renewal, your VPS will be suspended after a short grace period. Your data is kept for approximately 7 days and then permanently deleted.
If you need to restore your VPS within that 7-day window, contact support as soon as possible.
Yes. You can update your email address from Account Settings in the dashboard.

Port 25 (SMTP) is blocked on all Opus Host VPS instances to prevent spam and protect the platform’s IP reputation.If you need to send emails from your VPS, use a transactional email provider such as SendGrid or Mailgun via port 587.
Yes — you have full root access and can install virtually any software you need. Just make sure your usage complies with the Acceptable Use Policy.
